When you upload large images to your Micropage or website it slows down your site as it takes longer for your device to download the image. If you have multiple large images on your Micropage or website it will take an awfully long time for the page to load and most people will abandon your page if it takes longer than 3-5 seconds to load.

Instead, you should resize and compress images so they load fast and are sized appropriately for your Micropage or website to give a better user experience and ensure your page loads fast!

How To Resize An Image? (Step-By-Step Instructions)

Step 1: Go to the ILoveIMG website.

Step 2: Click on Resize IMAGE.

Click on the “Resize IMAGE” button and it will give you the option to resize your JPG, PNG, SVG and GIF images for your business logo or the top banner image on your Micropage.

Click the “Select images” button to choose images from your computer or you can simply drag and drop the image on the page and it will upload.

Step 3: Resize The Image(s).

Using the width and height settings, you can adjust the size of your image and keeping the proportions in scale with the size of your
image to get the best resizing.

Each image will need to be selected individually to make these settings.

It’s best to start with the width that you like the image resized to and the ILoveIMG website will rescale the height to suit this sizing change.

These images can now be uploaded to the media library of your website. Please visit the “Media Library” section of this user guide manual to learn how to upload an image to the media library of your website.

Find out the size of your image Right click on the image and then select “Properties”.

The size is normally shown in KB which is kilobytes, This is a great size for and image for web. If the image is shown in MB which is Megabytes it may be too large and needs to be compressed or resized.

How To Compress An Image? (Step-By-Step Instructions)

Step 1: Go to Compressor.

Once your image has been resized you can compress the image to make it much smaller to allow your website to load faster.
The smaller the kb or mb size of the image the faster the website will load for the end user.

Please note: This website will allow 20 images per day for free to compress the size of your images.
Once again this is an optional task but highly recommended if you have the time to make your image file sizes smaller.

Step 2: Click on Select files

Simply drag and drop your files in the box on the page or click on the “Select files“.

Step 3: Select the images from your computer

From your computer, select the files in which you would like to compress. Keep in mind, these are your resized photos from ILoveIMG.

Make sure you are selecting the resized images before proceeding.

Step 4: Download your files

Once you have selected all of your files, Compressor will start compressing your files and provide you with the status of how much of a percentage of file compression and the before and after file sizes for each individual file Compressor has created.

You can download each file individually by pressing the “Download” button under the action tab or your can download all of the files as one .ZIP file by clicking the “Download All” button at the bottom of the table.

If your compressed images look too pixelated or distorted you can change the compression type to “Custom” and select your own level of compression by customising the settings or select “Lossless” to shave a small amount of file space of the file but still maintaining a high-quality image.

The default settings as “Lossy” usually do really well with shrinking the size of your file and still maintaining a great looking image for the web. Have a play with these setting and you’ll be impressed by how small they can make the file size for your images.
